UFO Vmax Exhaust Testimonials

Original Message:

The Winter of 2008/2009 I did a redo of my 2000 Vmax and added the UFO Dragstar Exhaust System to compliment my chromed R1 USD. This exhaust system arrived within one week of ordering. All the exhaust pieces were clearly labeled for installation and a full set of installation instructions were included. Installation was simple and straightforward. The Fit and Finish of these pipes are exceptional and I have included a picture for reference. While louder than my previous Kerker, the rumble is truly worthy of my Hotrod EFI fueled 1500 Tourmaster. I am looking forward to adding UFO mods to my new 2009 Vmax.

Received my UFO Quadzilla exhaust and mounted it this weekend. WOW! Does this baby scream! I don't know what to compare to since I have never heard such a rumble, so I will quote what others have said. "Ear shattering loud." One riding buddy was approximately 100 yards behind me on the highway when I hit the gas "I could feel the power in my chest coming off your bike" he replied. The most common response people have is a wry smile and a shaking of their head from side to side as they try to figure out what the hell just passed them.
If you like loud and fast, order these pipes from Jon today. You will not be disappointed.

hey guys i'm just writing to comment on your exhaust systems, I'm in cambridge ontario canada and have seen two of your systems and both are amazing my friend gord has one on his v max and it sounds sweet m and another friend, didio, just got one for his zx-14, and it too sounds awsome. definately the best sounding exhaust i have heard yet, makes me almost want to sell my bike just to get a bike that you make a system for!. if you ever decide to make an exhaust for a 2001 yamaha R1 i'll no doubt be your first customer, better still if you want to prototype one i'll let you use my bike lol.keep up the great work and the great systems-jay

Jon,

Wont bother you with a message on your machine since this will be rather lengthy.

Got your dragstar pipes today as you promised.
The system is flat out amazing.

The coating on the pipes looks flawless, and the polished collector and tip/cornell core muffler are like diamonds.

The instructions were spot on, I thought they could use pictures, but once I assembled the parts on the bike, I figured it out just the same.

Sounds ridiculous. I have to cruise around town in 5th gear to keep the revs/sound down.
On the highway I can make believe I am running a drag bike or pro-street musclecar.
A full-face helmet is a must, so other cars cannot see my smile.
I have power now that I have never felt before with my "came with the bike cobra exhaust".

Issues that I could give feedback on are:
perhaps provide 2 additional band clamps for the midpipes. I have a bit of exhaust leaking from those slip joints. I cannot see it or smell it, but I can feel it by hand.
Consider if possible redesigning the band clamp that attaches the muffler tip to the existing mounting hole. It fits fine, and lines up perfectly, but the gear drive clamp is facing out. This may be an issue for some, but I like the no-nonsense industrial look it provides.

I dont know what went into designing the system, and I dont want to be an armchair quarterback, so please take these ideas as just from one person.
The system still rates to me as a 10/10. I am very, very pleased.

Thanks Jon for doing what you promised, both advertised on the website, and your phone conversations with me over the past 3 days.

I cant wait to return from Iraq and get the VGAS!

Jon,
Received the pipes as promised tonight. Just finished installing
them and took the bike for a test ride. Now, the neighbors and/or the
homeowners association my end up lynching me but God Damn that's what a VMax
is supposed to sound like!! I couldn't believe it when I first fired up the
engine. You aren't kidding when you compare it to a cammed up BB Chevy!

Fit and finish of the pipes are outstanding and the installation was a snap.
The pipes practically put themselves together on the bike. I couldn't be
happier. Now I just need to do some tuning on the carbs. I didn't wind it
out too much (it's cold tonight in Jackson, MS!) so don't know what, if any,
carb tuning is necessary. Jon, I wish you a happy and safe holiday season
and hope to meet you one day if I'm in your area. Take care.
Sincerely,
Jim

Hello Jon!! This is Jason MacGilvra from Manchester NH. I have had so much fun with the new exhaust set up and the stage 7 kit. The bike runs awesome and the looks I get from people is hilarious from the sound. Anyways we talked a little while ago about the DB rating I am going to have to deal with to pass inspection in June so I can still drive the max. I actually have met 2 other guys in the area with your set up and they are wondering the same thing. Have you had any good ideas? Do you think you will have something created by then? Just figured I would check in with you. I hope things are well and I look forward to catching up with you soon.

Hello Jon,

Your Exhaust is still rocking on my vmax! I have been running into a lot of other vmax owners that are still stock and I have referred them to your website. I hope you have gained some more sales to our area. Anyways, I have a question. Do you have any setups or recommendations so I may be able to put Yamaha R1 rims on my 05 vmax? Any info you might have would be great!

Thank you!

P.S. Completely wasted a V-rod down an off ramp onto the highway 2 days ago. IT WAS AWESOME!

Hi Jon

I have received the exhaust system from you and have installed it and must say it looks, sounds and performs great. I have not been able to test it as much as I would like, but the bike is perfroming much better.

There is one thing I want to ask you about - the noise level is extremely high (a bit higher than I expected) and I was wondering if there is a way to lower it by few decibels without affecting the performance ( it is so hard to sneak home late at night!). It is not a big deal but if there is a simple way.....

Best regards and thanks for speedy delivery, I will be doing business with you again for sure ( I have already seen things I like)

Aloha Jon,

Mahalo ( thank you ) for the tip on removing that coil mounted to the oil
pan, That made all the differance! I finally had time this weekend to try again
to install the exhaust. It went on perfectly, smooth as silk. I couldn't believe
how easy it was to install! I must have did it in about 15 min. Then fired it
up. It sounds amazing!!! Well Jon thanks again, and i'll be doing business
with you soon.

Aloha,
Todd
