This is the coolest site I've ever seen on the internet!
3 months ago I went to a big motorshop here in Holland to buy a helmet.
There I saw a brandnew '97 silver/black V-MAX.
When I saw it, I knew that that would be the only bike I'd like.
1st october I got my licence to drive such a monster. 3 october I bought a '89 V-max painted in a dark green metalic color. The engine hasn't been modified. It;s imported in april 1996 and has a kilometer speedometer instead of a miles speedometer.
After biking for a couple of days I think that mr. MAX is the coolest bike on earth.
At the moment I hit the throtle, my heart starts pumpimg adrealine through my body at a very high speed (almost as high as the max goes:)).

I just want to say that the V-MAX is a very cool bike, and your homepage is the best one for it.
Keep up the good work!

Have ordered (used) stock exhaust (only US$500) for quiet and that nice beefy look - I don't think I'll miss a few HP, it has plenty!
Experience some vibration in bars when encountering longitudinal road grooves; maybe I'll try the suggested steering head retainer nut fix.
Biggest concern is frequent popping out of 2nd gear, usually under moderate acceleration.

Lieber Ingo
viel Spass beim Vmax-biken.

I like the bike even more than I thought I would. I knew the motor would be great but after reading too many articles was a little concerned about the handling. I think the thing handles great. True I'm not used to riding cafe racers, but I've driven a fair number of bikes over the years and this thing handles great. The only problem I'm having is the horn doesn't work. I went to check it out and the first problem is I can't locate the horn. Anyway I'll sort it out.
